Speaker Among receives body of slain Minster ahead of special sitting
It was a somber mood at Parliament as the Rt Hon Speaker of Parliament Anita Among received the casket containing the body of former State Minister for Gender, Labour and Social Development, Rtd Col Charles Engola.
The Speaker, together with Members of Parliament, Parliament staff, relatives and friends of the deceased received the casket containing the remains of the former minister, which was ushered in by the UPDF.
The body will lie in State for MPs to pay their last respects. Thereafter, Parliament will hold a Special Sitting at 2pm in his honour that will be presided over the Speaker Anita Among.
Engola was killed by his body guard Wilson Sabiiti, before he turned the gun on himself in a salon in Kyanja, northeast of Kampala.
